The mission of KASSSI is to create significant, positive opportunities for all children living in Jamaica by helping parents, residents, teachers and other stakeholders to create a safe learning environment for children and young people. KASSSI aims to improve outcomes for financially and emotionally disadvantaged children, families and communities, starting in Petersville, Westmoreland, Jamaica, W.I.
Projects currently realised or being nurtured: Breakfast Clubs in three schools; supported transportation to and from school; literacy and numeracy support for children in schools; an adult literacy program in Petersville All-Aged School; support with completing applications and securing Government accommodation for local residents; support for local builders to secure employment; securing funding to erect a bus shelter outside Petersville All-Aged School; volunteers acting as befrienders/mentors; a mobile, toy library; Virtual Cultural Exchanges, and establishing a community online magazine etc..
