Anyone for Tennis?

KASSSI’s inaugural Lawn Tennis Tournament was played at Figges Marsh, Mitcham Surrey on the 28th and 29th of August 2011, which was a Bank Holiday weekend. The tournament was split into four groups of four contestants, with the winners and runners up in each group going through to the next round etc… This tournament threw up some exciting match-ups with the two girls equipping themselves extremely well! Credit must go to a number of players who ensured the tournament went ahead: Alexandra, Peter, Abhi, Ash, Obi, Tom, Adam, Leslie, Quintin, Thea, Tony, Alan, Cee, Lennox, Omar, Lloyd, Rafal, Daniel, Leigh… and others who supported us. It is fair to say that players of all shapes, age and sizes…some rolling the biological clock back many years… participated admirably!

In the end however, it was the youthful, artistic and formidable Tony Brown who lifted the cup and walked away with the £50:00 first prize…(well he didn’t really walk away with the cup as it needed to have his name engraved on it!). Tony thanked the CEO, Garth Walcott saying he was now on his way to Notting Hill Carnival where he intended to celebrate his good fortunes… and looked forward to the next tournament… without trepidation!! Entry fee was £10 per person and the tournament raised £140:00 profit. You can see more pictures from this event by clicking here.
